A very special farewell for Jackie & Gardeners’ Delight!!
Christmas lunch at The Moat House,
Acton Trussell, Staffs.
A later start and a very relaxing day with little walking is promised as we make our way direct to the much requested, award-winning, Moat House Restaurant for our Christmas lunch. The setting is beautiful as it is next to the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal and if the weather is kind you can have a walk along it or explore further afield and enjoy the wildlife.
The Moat House hasn’t always been the thriving business it is today. Throughout the generations it has had various owners before it came into the care of the Lewis family. The house, along with nearby St James’ church, has been a focal point of the village since early medieval times. Take time to have a look at the Church and Church yard during your visit and we will try to arrange for it to be open so that you can look inside.
On arrival coffee or something stronger will be available for you to purchase and enjoy on one of the comfy seats by the roaring fires. From here you can admire the superb views all around you. Lunch will be served at 1pm.
This is always a popular event as It gives us all time to talk to people we have met during the year in a relaxing environment. Early booking is essential, especially as this is the last trip that Gardeners’ Delight will be hosting. As always, there will be a choice of a three-course traditional Christmas lunch, a fish dish, or a vegetarian dish; which will be followed by tea/coffee and mince pie.
As soon as I have the menu from the Chef at the Restaurant I will let you have a copy. This should be by the end of February. Your menu selection will be required when the full payment is paid which is on or before 5 October.
The cost for the coach and three course lunch at The Moat House is £52.95. Please send a £15.00 non-refundable deposit per person when booking. The coach will leave Shrewsbury at approximately 11am and return about 5.00pm. Exact timings will be confirmed 7 days beforehand.
