A fond farewell from Jackie Crick and Gardeners’ Delight
Many of you will know the history of Gardeners’ Delight, which I founded in 2006 because I wanted to visit beautiful places in the UK, travel in comfort with good company, and learn something new along the way. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every minute of my time over those years organising trips to so many memorable gardens and events. I have also had the great pleasure of meeting lovely people and developing close friendships. In lots of different ways, many of you have been an inspiration. However, after 14 years at the helm, and winding down over the last couple of years, I have decided that the time for me to retire is fast approaching.
Jacky, my daughter, whom most of you know from her involvement with Gardeners’ Delight, was joined three years ago by her sister, Sue, in setting up Wisteria Tours. Since then, they have been successfully running their own day-trips and short tours all over the UK to the same high standards as Gardeners’ Delight. I am really pleased to tell you that they will be incorporating Gardeners’ Delight into Wisteria Tours so there will still be lots of lovely trips and tours on offer. I am very much looking forward to going on them and sitting back whilst they do all the work! However, I have promised my services one day a week to help, suggest and plan future exciting day trips and tours! (And maybe keep an eye on them)!
But before then, I hope to see as many as possible of you on the exciting days out planned by Gardeners’ Delight for 2019, culminating in the Grand Finale at The Moat House, Acton Trussell, Staffs on 5 December!!
Finally, I would like to thank everyone for their support over the years. This has always been much appreciated. Jackie
